Thomas Owen McWilliams passed away peacefully on September 14th at AngelsGrace Hospice with his devoted wife, Allison, by his side. At the age of 78, it was an unexpected yet short hospital stay after experiencing a stroke quickly followed by a terminal cancer diagnosis. Tom was the loving husband of Allison McWilliams and the proud father of Michael McWilliams, Quinn McWilliams, Meghan McWilliams, Courtney Robinson, Drew Robinson, and daughters-in-law Robin McWilliams and Britta Robinson. In addition, he adored his beautiful grandchildren Morgan, Shannon, Sean, Taylor, Theodore (Teddy), Stella, Mateo, Lena, Lincoln, and Kaine. He is survived by his brother Jim, sister-in-law Carmen, and sister-in-law Lee Ann.
Tom was born August 19,1947 in Wauwatosa, WI. He graduated from Brookfield Central High School and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Tom spent the majority of his career as a sales executive in the chemical industry. Tom married Cheryl (Rogan) McWilliams in 1969. She tragically passed away from breast cancer in 1990. He eventually married Allison (Domke-Robinson) McWilliams in 1992. Tom was determined to accept and raise his stepchildren as his own, which was critical in cementing the bond the family has to this day. It was his proudest legacy!
Tom enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved boating, fishing, hunting, golfing and bird watching on his back deck. Anyone that knew Tom knew his love of sweets. He would never pass up a tasty treat! Tom and Allison enjoyed being snow birds, escaping the cold winters for boating on the Gulf Coast of Florida, while savoring their summers back on the lake in Wisconsin.
Tom is preceded in death by his mother, Naomi (Wandrey) McWilliams and father, Dale McWilliams, his first wife Cheryl (Rogan) McWilliams, his brother, Steve McWilliams and his beloved black lab, Jack.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 4th beginning at 4pm at The Golden Mast on Okauchee Lake.
