October 29, 1953 - September 16, 2025

Martin Brand, of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the age of 71.

Beloved father of  Timothy and John. Lifelong partner of Sharon L. Brand (nee McCann).  Dear brother of David (Mary), Cindy (Tom) Watson, Jeffrey (Dawn Mathison), Larry (Kathy) Kopperud, Elizabeth “Casey” and Julie (Carol Van Duser).  Dear brother-in-law of Brian (Christina Nixon) McCann and Maureen (Edward) Wahhab.  Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, William and Jean Brand; his stepmother, Dorothy Brand; and his brother-in-law, Arthur Hine.

Born on October 29, 1953, Marty grew up in Wauwatosa, where he began building lifelong friendships that would remain at the center of his life. He graduated from Marquette High School and the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and was a devoted fan of the Bucks, Brewers, and Badgers, cheering them on through triumphs and heartbreaks alike.

Marty had a rare gift for connection. He was a loving father, a cherished partner, a devoted brother, and a proud uncle to many nieces and nephews. Just as important to him were the countless friendships he formed—many stretching back to childhood—which became a source of joy, laughter, and unwavering support throughout his life.

He worked for many years at BBC Lighting in Milwaukee, where he was respected for his dedication, but even more for his kindness and humor.

Beyond work, Marty’s happiest moments were spent with family and friends—sharing laughs over a game of sheepshead, teeing off on the golf course, or traveling to new places near and far. His warmth and generosity made him a loyal companion and the kind of friend everyone felt lucky to have.

After spending most of his years in Southeastern Wisconsin, Marty retired to The Villages in Florida, where he embraced each day with the same joy and optimism that defined his entire life. His legacy lives on in the laughter of his friends, the memories made on golf courses and card tables, and the countless lives brightened by his friendship.
