Our beloved Beverly Jane Grudzinski (nee Smith), age 87, passed peacefully with family by her side on September 30, 2025, after “winning” her long battle with dementia. She is now free of suffering and in God’s kingdom.
Bev, as she was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who were lucky enough to know her. Through her work as a food service manager for Schellgell (Aramark) she had the privilege of working with numerous companies, such as the Medical College of Wisconsin, WTMJ4, Manpower, and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. In this role she befriended people from all walks of life: doctors, medical students, journalists, reporters, press linemen and executives who all appreciated her outgoing personality and sense of humor.
Bev prioritized family; she was very supportive of her kids and especially adored her many grandchildren. She impressed upon them the importance of family and lived her life leading by example, always prioritizing others’ lives over her own. She loved unconditionally, encouraging her grandchildren through their life journeys, incredibly proud of who they have become and took any chance she could to brag about them.
Most of all Bev was a kind and compassionate person. She did not judge other people. She lived her life respecting and caring for all her fellow neighbors.
Music and having fun were very important to Bev. She loved going to Summerfest, State Fair, church festivals, anywhere where there was live music. While country was her favorite, she liked all kinds of music, especially when she was able to spin around the dance floor. Bev and Bob went on many adventures, always together, whether it was on vacation, attending the many sporting events of their children and grandchildren, or just enjoying the company of each other at movies, restaurants and family events.
Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. She truly kept everyone connected. Although Bev’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us.
Beverly was preceded in death by her mother Helen, father Barney, stepfather Frank, brother Richard, and sister and closest friend, Renee.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 69 years, Robert. Also survived by her brother Duane Smith (Pat). Beverly raised seven children, Kim (Matthew), Scott (Constance), Kevin (Kathy), Krystal, Kurt, Sean (Julie), and grandson Joseph (Lauren). She adored her 12 grandchildren (Jeremy, Justin, Kayla, Carrie, Trista, Kevin Jr., Kyle, Kendal, Joseph, Maxwell, Oliver, and Bailey) and 17 great-grandchildren and was loved by many other relatives and friends.
The family would like to express its deepest gratitude to all the caregivers who helped Beverly through this cruel disease, from Horizon Hospice Care, Always Best Care and countless family members who stepped in where needed.
Celebration of Life on October 11, 2025 from 2:00pm until service at 4:00pm at Wisconsin Memorial Park Chapel of the Chimes, 13235 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield, WI 53005.
