Of Milwaukee, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday morning October 29th, 2025. (Age 79)
Jim was born on April 8th 1946.
Preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Esther (Moede) Kinney and his brother Gerry Kinney.
Survived and loved by his children, Timothy Kinney (son) and Tracy Pavlekovich (daughter). He is friends with the mother of his children, Louise Ronningen-Kinney (Gilbert). Jim loved and is loved by his longtime dear friend Linda Zellmer.
Jim grew up in the Washington Park neighborhood, where he graduated from Washington High School in 1964. He continued onto college at M.S.O.E., where he was recruited by Wisconsin Electric Power Company. He dedicated over 45 years to WE Energies before retiring as a Sr. Electrical Engineering Technician.
Jim was a fun man. He enjoyed the gathering of his friends and family, along with good company, great food, music and drinks. He had a passion for sports, from golf, to football, to baseball, to tennis, to NASCAR, to bowling, and anything in between. He loved playing them, watching them, and talking about them. For many years he was President of the Mens Club at Edgewood Golf Course. He also enjoyed to travel, especially if golf was the destination.
Jim was known as a very kind, pleasant, sweet man with a big heart. He is loved by so many and will be truly missed.
All friends and family are welcome to celebrate Jim's life on November 8th, 2025 at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Wauwatosa.
