Magdalene (Madge) Rabby, age 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
Madge was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin where she was a resident for nine years and then her family moved to Green Bay. She attended high school at St. Joseph's Academy and then St. Norbert College in De Pere, WI where she attained her bachelor's degree in biology. She went on for graduate work at Marquette University where she and her future husband, John, both taught in the English Department. They were married for fifty-five years and had four children. They resided in Nashotah for thirty years and in Oconomowoc for twenty years.
Madge is survived by her daughters: Elizabeth Hale of Wilmer, Alabama, Jennefer (Mark) Lehman of Madison, WI and Lorry (Jesse) Corso of Muskego, WI. Madge was the proud grandmother of Lou and Sam Crawford of Alabama.
After working in cancer research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Madge obtained a government grant and established the Medical Library at the Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital. Her retirement years were spent in numerous civic, charitable, and volunteer organizations.
Madge is preceded in death by her husband John Wesley Rabby, her son Thomas, sister Dolores Gale, nephew Stephen Gale and Uncle and Aunt, James and Beatrice Brosick (West Allis).
Visitation will take place from 11 AM until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 12 PM Noon on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 995 Silver Lake St, Oconomowoc. Private burial will be held at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish Cemetery in North Lake, WI.
