Carol, at the age of almost 94 years, was called to her eternal home on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, with her loving family by her side. She has joined her dear husband Roger in heaven whom she was married to for 68 years until his death. Very loving mom of Dennis (Barb) Kuen, Karen (Pat) Kuen-Quinnt, Michelle (Peter) Kellner, and Diane (Jeff) Kohl. Proud grandma of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Gerald (Jan) Ernst and sister-in-law of Eunice Kuen. Further survived by many other relatives and friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband Roger in 2018. She was also preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Eunice Ernst as well as aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and dear friends Rosie and Lester Goetz.
Carol was a very kind, caring, forgiving and compassionate person and of strong Christian faith. If you had a worry, she would worry more; if you were sad, she would try and take your sadness away for you. She joined with gladness in your happiest life moments and believed in fairness and equality for all people. She was a very good conversationalist and always made sure to ask questions about how you are and what has been happening in your life.
Carol had many interests including cooking, sewing, sheepshead card club, cross stitching and travel. She loved cooking for her family of six in her younger years. She made many of the clothes for her children and then later made all their doll clothes for them as well as the grandchildren. She enjoyed the detailed work. She delighted in doing counted cross stitch and made many beautiful pieces that she shared with her family for births, baptisms, weddings as well as Christian themed stitcheries. For many years she, along with four other ladies, shared turns at their homes to play sheepshead. As a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church since 1963 along with Roger, she cherished her many years there as a part of the sewing club and made quilts for those less fortunate. She enjoyed the camaraderie and the many friends she made.
Carol and Roger took such pleasure in the many years of traveling first with their children (since 1968) until their golden years when they had a motor home and traveled to Florida during the winter and made many trips to various parts of the country and many national parks. She cherished spending time with her dear brother Jerry and sister-in-law Jan and their family--whether it was traveling together in the motor home or going to their land and spending time outdoors. She loved hosting Christmas, and nothing brought her more joy than having her family near her at these celebrations.
