Madeline Ann Caldwell, from Whitefish Bay, was born February 8, 1939, and passed away on December 4, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Lillian Rost. Survived by her children Julia (Jeff) Wilson and Cheryl (Cory) Jackson, grandchildren Keira and Gelsey Wilson, Justin, Jacob, Sarahope and Zachary Childress, Connor and Nicoloas Jackson and great grandchildren Wesley, Anthony, MissyRose, Alric, Mable, Meritee, Wyatt, Ole and Calvin. Madeline received her teaching degree from Milwaukee-Downer College, and she earned her master’s degree in education with a focus on communication (her favorite courses were those taken at Disney World). Madeline taught in the Whitefish Bay School District for her entire career. She loved to dance. She was a ballet dancer and instructor, a member of several Hawaiian dance groups, a member of the Dancing Grannies, and a member of Seniorgee! with the Milwaukee Bucks. Madeline was a member of the Lalumiere League and served as president for three consecutive terms. She enjoyed volunteering every year at the Breast Cancer House in Milwaukee and as an usher for several downtown Milwaukee theatres. Madeline was an avid gardener and cared for a beautiful rose garden at home. Inspired by her parents' love of travel, she toured the world in retirement and was always up for a fabulous river cruise. Madeline found chocolate and discounts on chocolate equally tasty. Madeline was a strong, independent, loving woman and will be missed by many. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Saturday, April 25, 2026, with visitation from 10 AM until the time of mass at St. Monica Catholic Church, 5681 N. Santa Monica Blvd., in Whitefish Bay. Guests are invited to join the family for a luncheon in the church hall immediately following Mass. Private inurnment in Resurrection Cemetery in Mequon.
