Delores passed away on January 7, 2026, at Marquardt Health Center in Watertown at the age of 100.
Delores Margaret Budewitz, who was fondly known as Dickie to relatives and close family, was born in Lebanon, Wisconsin on April 5, 1925, to Oscar and Alma (Braunschweig) Budewitz. She married Merlin Schultz on February 21, 1959, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lebanon.
She is survived by two daughters; Nancy (Jeff) Dahlgren of Monona, WI, Doreen Schultz of Oconomowoc; granddaughter Lynn Dahlgren of Madison, and grandson, Carl Dahlgren of Monona; one brother, Howard Budewitz of Watertown; and her close friend of 65 years, Wanda Otto. She is further survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Merlin, on October 11, 2001; a brother, Herbert (Viola) Budewitz, two brothers in infancy; seven sisters, Leona (Walter) Fredrick, Luella (Arthur) Wolter, Adeline (Armand) Kuehl, Marcella Budewitz, Norma (Orlando) Rantzow, Mable (John) Surdick, and Blondina Budewitz in infancy; sister-in-law Shirley Budewitz; brother-and-sister-in law Harold and Alma Schultz.
Delores had been employed in the past with Glen Manufacturing in Watertown, the Oconomowoc Lake Club, and was also a self-employed housekeeper in the Oconomowoc area. She also volunteered with Forgotten Treasures thrift store for many years.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Oconomowoc, and the Ladies Aid Society.
The family would like to thank the staff at Marquardt Health Center and Common Heart Hospice for their dedication and wonderful care provided to our mother over the past several years.
Funeral services will be held Friday January 16, 2026, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church 210 E. Pleasant St. Oconomowoc visitation will be held from 9:30am until time of service at 11am.
