Peggy D. Siegmeier
June 26, 1932 - January 9, 2026

On Friday, January 9, 2026, our beloved mother and grandmother, Peggy Darlene (Beck) Siegmeier, 93, was called home to be with the Lord.  Peggy lived a life rooted in faith and family.

Peggy was born on June 26, 1932 in Polo, Illinois.  She was raised by loving grandparents and attended grade school and junior high school in Loves Park, Illinois.  She then moved to Freeport, Illinois to live with her mother, Pearl (Reed) Brockill, stepfather Victor Brockill and brother Raymond.  She graduated from Freeport High School.

She met her husband, Leon (Lon) Siegmeier at Micro Switch in Freeport where they were both employed.  They were married on August 23, 1952 and had two children – Scott Reed and Shelly Jo.  The family moved to Rockford, Illinois in 1964.

Peggy will be remembered as a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother and friend, always putting the needs of her family and others first.  She was the magic in every holiday and special occasion, providing the most fabulous holiday dinners, perfectly wrapped gifts, beautiful decorations and fun surprises!  She was happiest when her whole family was together and her love language was food!  She loved to see everyone sitting around her dining room table eating, laughing and enjoying each other’s company.  Over the years, she and her husband and family enjoyed numerous family vacations to Florida, Yellowstone National Park, Hawaii, Door County and various parts of the country, as well as several Caribbean cruises. Peggy was manager of the accounting dept. at Rockford Systems for over 20 years until her retirement in 1997. She enjoyed being on a women’s golf league and she joined a ceramics class, making many beautiful creations that she gifted to family and friends.  She made an entire Christmas village for each of her children that will lovingly be passed on to her grandchildren.

Peggy always credited her husband Lon for introducing her to her Lord and Savior.  Throughout her entire adult life, she held an unwavering faith and trust in God which she shared with those who surrounded her.  She and her husband Lon were faithful members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rockford, Illinois where they were very involved in the assimilation committee, welcoming new members into the congregation.  They helped to establish a Lutheran mission church in Winnebago, Illinois and, as a result, made many lasting friendships there.

In 2017, Peggy moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to be closer to her daughter and her family.  She became a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wauwatosa and quickly became involved and acquainted with many church members who made her feel so welcome.  She enjoyed many happy times in Milwaukee with her daughter and family.  In 2021, Peggy received the unfortunate diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and eventually moved to Elaine’s Hope, the memory care facility at the Lutheran Home in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.  She received loving, compassionate care from the wonderful staff there until the Lord took her home.

Peggy is survived by her daughter Shelly (Gary) Phillips and grandchildren Matthew and Megan (Richard Hurley) Phillips.  She was preceded in death by her husband Leon Siegmeier, son Scott Siegmeier, mother Pearl Brockill, father Charles Beck, stepfather Victor Brockill, brother Raymond Brockill and many beloved aunts, uncles, family members and friends.

Visitation Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 10:30am until Time of Service at 12:00Noon at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 10025 W. North Avenue, Wauwatosa.  Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church or Elaine's Hope appreciated.
