John Palmer Good passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and under the compassionate care of hospice.
Raised in Oak Park, Illinois, John graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School in 1953. He earned a degree in architecture from Kansas State University and began his career at several prominent Chicago firms. On June 9, 1962, he married the love of his life, Marilyn Rae Nussbaum of Berne, Indiana. John later joined his father at the Good-lite Company, a medical equipment manufacturer in Forest Park, Illinois, which he successfully owned and managed for decades.
Upon relocating to Elm Grove, Wisconsin, John became an active member of Elmbrook Church. In retirement, he dedicated his time to the Gideons and the Kiwanis Club of Milwaukee. He cherished summers at the family cottage in Fish Creek, Wisconsin, and winters on Marco Island, Florida, where he was a member of the Marco Presbyterian Church.
A man of many talents, John was a longtime member of the Milwaukee Camera Club and the Marco Island Art League. He remained an avid piano player until his final months and was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Palmer W. and Elvina M. Good, and his sister, Carolyn MacKenzie.
John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marilyn Rae Good; his three daughters, Jennifer Good (Paul Knudson), Barbara (Tom) VanHeest, and Karen (Charlie) Norz; seven grandchildren, Ryan (Lindsay) Wertz, Ellen (Tyler) Schuster, Sam (Jaclyn) VanHeest, Priscilla (Matthew) Filus, Matthew VanHeest, Alex (Grace) Norz, and Abigail Norz; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on February 20th, 2026, from 10:00 am until the time of Celebration of Life at 11:00 am at St. Camillus Guardian Angel Chapel (10100 W Bluemound Rd, Wauwatosa, WI 53226).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Milwaukee Area Salvation Army, the Milwaukee Rescue Mission, or Horizon Home Hospice of Milwaukee.
