Mary Vanden Busch
February 19, 1952 - February 26, 2026

Mary Vanden Busch (nee Haack) passed away on February 26, 2026, at the age of 74.

Mary was the oldest of eight children to parents George and Justine Haack and grew up on Milwaukee's East Side. Mary had very fond memories of her summers growing up when visiting Berry Lake with her family.

During a chance encounter on Bradford Beach, Mary met her husband, Mike. From that chance meeting, blossomed a loving marriage of over 53 years together. Out of their marriage grew two children, Mark (Sarah) Vanden Busch and Maren (Horacio) Ordonez and three grandchildren, Anna, Alyssa, and Sofie.

Mary showed up consistently for those she loved to support them when they needed it. Mary enjoyed working in her garden and took great joy swimming in the warm waters of the Florida Keys or in lakes "Up North". Mary also took great pride in boasting about making the largest turkey at Thanksgiving, no matter the how many people she was feeding. No turkey could ever weigh under twenty pounds. Mary also loved decorating the house for Christmas and baking delicious Christmas cookies each year. Mary was always up for a good laugh, a nice drink, and a quiet meal out with Mike.

Alongside, her husband, children and grandchildren, Mary is survived by her mother, her sisters: Julie Fex, Nancy Booth, and Allison Hentzen, her brother Charlie Haack, many nieces and nephews and extended family. Preceding her in death were her father, and brothers Tom, Robert, and Fred Haack.

Though her time ended too soon, she will always have a lasting impact on those who surrounded her in her life through their memories of her.

And finally, it would be remised to not mention that Mary took great dislike to the grey weather in Wisconsin at this time of year, so a celebration of her life will be done in the future when the weather improves, and it be a day she would much enjoy being outdoors.
