Michael E. Tarman passed away on Tuesday, March 17, at the age of 77. Raised among four sisters, he was a beloved brother, uncle, Vietnam veteran (awarded two Purple Hearts), and registered nurse whose life was marked by service, intelligence, humor, and compassion.
Michael had a sharp mind, a wicked wit, and a deep love of history, music, movies, nature, and travel. He especially loved his dogs, the woods of Wisconsin, and exploring the mountains and deserts of the West. To his many nieces and nephews, he was simply “Mikey,” a much-loved and unforgettable presence in their lives.
After more than a decade of sobriety, Michael had found peace in his later years. He will be deeply missed by his four sisters, many nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Rosemary (nee Harbrecht) Tarman; and his brother-in-law, Richard Brillault.
Further survived by his sisters, Nancy Brillault, Rosemary (Kurt) Glaisner, Jean Tarman Sanchez and Susan Tarman (Brian O'Keefe); nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held in July, with details to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wisconsin Humane Society at https://secure.wihumane.org/site/Donation.
