John Rohrer, 91, of Oconomowoc, died March 28, 2026 in Milwaukee.
John was born to hard working German immigrants, Konrad and Katherine Rohrer, in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Growing up on a dairy farm, John had a passion for farming all of his life. In his long retirement, he enjoyed growing and selling pumpkins to several generations of local families.
In 1956, John married Kay Linscott and they had six children. There is nothing John was more proud of than his family, including 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He loved them all but always had a soft spot for the babies! He took great pleasure in sharing stories about the family’s many camping adventures (and misadventures!), criss-crossing the country in a series of Ford vans.
In 1987, John and his family began a tradition of summer pig roasts attended by family and friends from across the country. Carried on over the years, they were a joyful testament to his commitment to family and his natural hospitality.
John is survived by his children, Theresa, Patricia, Kate, Dan, James and Joe; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Fred Rohrer and sisters, Monica Byrnes and Kathy Haney.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kay Rohrer, and his sister, Gunda Amsbary.
