Shirley R. Radeck, 72, of Germantown, passed away peacefully on Friday May 22, 2026, in the comfort of her home. Shirley was born on December 13, 1953 in Merrill, WI to parents Elmer and Joyce Kanapka. She is survived by daughters Roxanne Radeck and Breyan (Ron) Timms, daughter-in-law Megan Radeck, grandson Nolan Radeck, sisters Debbie (Dwight) Jutrzonka and Kim (Jim) Burg, and brother Larry Kanapka. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Justin Radeck, and her sister Linda Kanapka. While she has a large circle of friends, we offer a special thanks to close friends, Jackie, Donna, and Joel, who provided exceptional care, compassionand support.
One of Shirley’s greatest joys was spending time with her grandson, Nolan; always looking forward to attending his baseball games and watching his excitement grow with our annual cookie decorating. She enjoyed spoiling her grand-dogs, having the Milk-Bones stocked and readily available. She was well known for her boisterous and distinguished laugh, easily identifiable from far distances. She had a passion for singing and enjoyed belting hymns several octaves above her register; and despite our critical feedback, she was not deterred. Shirley had many friends and was a social butterfly in several circles. She was always up for a brunch, a dinner, or a community event; her dance card was full. Shirley loved to play games, including cribbage, Scrabble, and train dominoes. Her most cherished vacation destinations include turquoise blue waters and colorful beach sunsets with a margarita in hand.
For those who know and love Shirley, you will know she was the queen of procrastination, chronically tardy, and late to just about everything. However, she was most prepared for her life’s final event. She’s always been strong in her faith, which strengthened throughout her final stage of life. She was not afraid of what was to come knowing she was in God’s hands. Shirley took pride in pre-planning most of her service and she was particularly excited for the luncheon to follow.
The funeral service will take place on Wednesday May 27, 2026. Visitation will be held from 10-11:30am, with service at 11:30am at Crown of Life Lutheran Church, 1292 Tally Ho Trail Hubertus, WI 53033. Luncheon will be served immediately after in the church hall.
