Steven George Poppert was called home by his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ with his family by his side on June 2, 2026, at the age of 74. A man of faith, strength, and generosity who held his friends and family close and his grandchildren closest. He will be dearly missed. 

Preceded in death by his beloved parents June and George Poppert and his sister Jenny (Bob) Schinner. 

Loving father of Adam (Maggie), Christian (Emily), Zachary (Avelina), and Jared (Jessica). 

Dear grandfather of Ethan, Elijah, Sophie, Micah, Tessa, Lucas, Antonina, Isaac, Wilhelmina, and Ezekiel. 

Further survived by his former wife, Christianne Poppert and other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services will be held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church 10025 W. North Ave. on Friday June 12, 2026. Visitation will be held at the church from 3pm until time of service at 5pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and St. Marcus Ministries.
