Of Menomonee Falls. Was called to Heaven on Friday July 17, 2026 at the age of 62 after a courageous battle with leukemia. Loving husband of Laurie (nee Brill) for 37 years. Devoted dad of Melanie (Andre) Hammond, David and Joshua. Proud papa of Levi and Averi. Brother of Steven (Paula) Lamp. Brother-in-law of Angela Brill and Kathy (Eric) Dahm. Uncle of Delaney Lamp, Natalia Lamp, Emily (Drew) Goblirsch, Sarah (Asher) Wolman and Meghan Dahm. Special nephew of Patricia. Close cousin to Vicki and Kris. Preceded in death by his parents Bill and Charlene Lamp and his in-laws Jim and Donna Brill. Further survived by other relatives and many dear friends.

Michael worked for CG Schmidt for 30 years and oversaw numerous projects over the years, with his favorite being running the construction of the giraffe enclosure and walkway at the Milwaukee County Zoo. His other projects include the Madison Beth Israel Synagogue, Tosa East Aquatic Center, and UW Madison Center South. Michael worked on several school district remodels, including Beaver Dam, Hartford Union High School, Whitnall, Cedarburg, Greenfield, St. Francis, and Menomonee Falls High School. His last job was building the current Kirkland Crossings in Pewaukee. He was proud of the lasting contributions his company made to several communities. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved to hunt and spend time with his family up north. He enjoyed sharing his wealth of knowledge of the outdoors with everyone. Michael had a passion for birds of prey- he banded red tailed hawks for a research project in Milwaukee when he was in his twenties- and he still points out the red tail to anyone when he sees them. As a true Wisconsinsite, he loved cheering for the Brewers and the Packers, as well as teaching the grandkids how to fish and build things.

Visitation will be Friday July 31, 2026 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, W156 N8131 Pilgrim Rd. in Menomonee Falls from 3pm-6:45pm. A service will be held at 7pm. Private burial at Sunnyside Cemetery. Memorials to Blood Cancer United would be greatly appreciated.

Michael was a kind and helpful soul. He was extremely handy and resourceful; always helping those he loved. We will miss him dearly.
