(nee Reynders), R.N., M.S., age 91, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family. She leaves behind a legacy of compassionate care, lifelong learning, and deep devotion to her family. Ann was born on April 24, 1935, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and spent her life in service to others—in her career and in her home.
In the spring of 1958, Ann married the love of her life, Joseph E. Boyle, and together they built a rich life over 63 years in southeastern Wisconsin, first in Burlington and later in Racine.
Ann had a curious mind and never stopped learning. She earned her nursing diploma after high school, went back for a degree in Sociology while raising her children, and later earned a master’s in Educational Psychology—each step a reflection of her belief that education was something worth pursuing at any stage of life. That same drive shaped a career spanning decades: she served as District School Nurse for a district of 5,000 students, and later found real purpose as an Advisor/Counselor to student nurses in the UW System, guiding a new generation into the profession she loved.
Ann was full of energy and easy to be around. A devout Roman Catholic, her faith was a guiding presence throughout her life. A proud Green Bay native, she never lost her love for the Packers, and rarely missed a Brewers game on TV. She kept up her daily exercise well into her later years, and lit up over duplicate bridge and mah-jongg—less for the games themselves than for the friends who came with them.
Ann is survived by her five children: Dennis, Mary Cullinan (William), Thomas (Judy), John, and James; 11 grandchildren: Kelly Dahms (Eric), Monica McClelland (Parker), Cami Cullinan Gilbert (Matt), Julia Cullinan Dodson (Eric), Maggie Cullinan, Michael, Erin Sandbrink (Dan), Mark (Nicole), Alane Rode (Kevin), Joe, and Frank; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Boyle; her parents; one brother and two sisters; and her grandson, John (Jack) Boyle.
Those who knew Ann will remember her warm smile, her sharp mind, and a devotion to family and community that never wavered. A private mass was held with family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those wishing to express sympathy consider a donation to a charity of their choice, or to Catholic Relief Services (CRS), in Ann’s memory.
