Nick was born on July 18, 1934, on a family farm in Ironton, Missouri, to James and Katherine Korkos. He was raised in Milwaukee and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1952. Nick attended UW–Milwaukee, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology. After college, he moved to Chicago and spent his career in the hotel and hospitality industry.

Fiercely independent and somewhat private, Nick enjoyed living a cosmopolitan life in the city of Chicago while maintaining close ties with his family in Milwaukee. He had a keen interest in current events and was an avid fan of classic movies and theater. One of his favorite pastimes was appearing as an extra in Hollywood films. Nick was also a great conversationalist who enjoyed engaging in lively discussions and exchanging ideas with people from all walks of life.

Nick will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church are appreciated.
