Gloria A. Neu (nee Mathieu) entered God's loving arms on September 28, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on May 15, 1939, she was the daughter of Frank and Loretta (Campbell) Mathieu. On August 31, 1957, she married the love of her life, Donald Neu. Together, they raised their family and made their home on a dairy farm in Colgate. Gloria took great pride in caring for her family and making their house a home where everyone felt welcome. She enjoyed gardening and canning, and in her spare time, she could often be found, sewing, crocheting, playing cards, or enjoying a game of Sheepshead. Gloria’s greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she adored. A woman of deep faith, she was a longtime active member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown. Her loving spirit, steadfast faith, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Gloria is survived by her beloved children, Barbara (Rolf) Berg, Carol (Bob) Altschwager, Diane (Don) Altschwager, Dennis Neu, Mary (Scott) Olson, Paula (Eric) Groholski; nine cherished grandchildren, Erika (Ray) Sawvell, Rakel Berg, Michael Altschwager, Peter Altschwager, Luke Altschwager, Deena Altschwager, Darcey (Harrison Smith) Altschwager, Justin Olson, and Miranda Olson; two great-grandsons; sisters-in-law, Jeanine Mathieu, Mary Kay (Larry) Nielsen, Clara (the late LeRoy) Neu; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents; young twin sister, Grace Mathieu; and brothers, Bugs Mathieu and Leon Mathieu. The visitation for Gloria will be held on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, from 9:30AM until 10:45AM the with Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 11:00AM at St. Boniface Church, W204 N11940 Goldendale Rd., Germantown, WI Burial will immediately follow the mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Boniface Church, the St. Boniface Church Food Pantry, or to the charity of the donor’s choice, are appreciated.
