Robert "Bob" J. Johnson, Sr.
March 25, 1949 - October 14, 2026

Robert "Bob" J. Johnson Sr. went home to the lord on October 14, 2026, at the age of 77.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Christina M. (nee Walls). Proud dad to Robert J. Jonson Jr. (Rebecca), Troy M. Johnson (Cindy), Stephanie L. Rose (Jason), Steven E. Johnson (Tammy), and Jason P. Johnson (Rachel). Loving Grandpa to 14 Grandchildren and 3 Great-grandchildren. Beloved brother of Russell Johnson (Carol) and Margaret Hall (Carl). He is further survived by many other friends and family.

Bob had a sense of adventure. Together with his wife, Chris, they established a beloved family tradition of two-week tent camping trips to Boot Lake, which was one of his favorite destinations in northern Wisconsin. What began as an annual family vacation continued for more than 20 years and eventually grew into an annual boys' weekend, where we continued some traditions to reconnect and share cherished memories.

Bob was never one to go unnoticed. Whether spending time with lifelong friends from his cherished "Villard Avenue crew" or welcoming new family and friends into his circle, he had a gift for making people feel included. Known for his quick wit and mostly perfectly timed jokes, Bob genuinely enjoyed being around people. He remembered the stories others shared with him and took pride in making everyone feel comfortable, valued, and welcome.

As a skilled maintenance machinist, Bob generously shared his talents with anyone in need. He was always ready to lend a hand to neighbors, friends, and family, tackling mechanical challenges with determination and resolve. Bob was not one to simply tinker with a problem, he was committed to fixing it the right way with a sense of pride. Bob was very proud of his career. In 1988, he graduated with an associate degree as a Maintenance Machinist and Maintenance Mechanic. Finding his passion, he started a business with a partner in 1996 retrofitting manufacturing machines with safety equipment.

Above all, Bob was devoted to his family. He loved sharing stories about the life he and Chris built together over 56 wonderful years and took great pride in watching their family grow. He was fiercely proud of his grandchildren and their families, maintaining close relationships with them and staying actively involved in their lives. Nothing brought Bob greater joy than knowing what was happening in the lives of those he loved.

Bob was also loved by his community. He was very active in Crown of Life Church and School, volunteering in many different roles over the years. He was known by the children in the church and school as "The Mint Man" because he always had a pocket full of mint lifesavers to hand out.

A visitation for Bob will be held on Saturday October 24th, from 10:30am until the time of service at 12pm at Crown of Life Lutheran Church (1292 Tally Ho Trail, Hubertus, WI 53033).

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Crown of Life Lutheran Church & School.
