Richard A. Rechlicz Sr.
June 2, 1925 - October 28, 2009
        

Richard A. Rechlicz, Sr. 84, of Menomonee Falls, a long-time resident of Brookfield, died on October 28, 2009. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia and devoted daughter, Pamela Buchholz of Hartford. Dick was born June 2, 1925. He married Patricia nee Edison on March 10, 1945. Dick joined the United States Army during World War II. He served from September 25, 1944 until he was honorably discharged on April 25, 1945. Dick and Patricia built their first home in Brookfield in 1953. He was the Executive Secretary of the Wisconsin School Bus Association for many years. He made friends with governors and legislators while lobbying on behalf of the Association. Dick was an avid hunter, former Boy Scout leader, active in Elm Brook School District and WCTC and was self-taught in computer programming and systems set up. Dick resided at the Arboretum for seven years after Patricia died. He brightened the lives of other residents by performing as a DJ. Dick would narrate and play songs from the 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s, bringing fond memories to all who attended his programs. He is survived by his daughter, Patti (Ted) Dunson of Valley Center, CA.; son, Richard (Virginia) Rechlicz of Menomonee Falls; son-in-law Dietmar Buchholz,  grandchildren Jennifer and Stacey Buchholz, Kyle, Derek, and Tamra Dunson; Christopher (Patricia), David (Kyle), Katherine (fiancé Dan Turtenwald) and Sara Rechlicz, and three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Payton, and Caleb Rechlicz. He is further survived by his sisters Gloria Crain of Ft. Worth, TX and Rita Balistreri of Pompano Beach, FL., and brother, Eugene (Red) Rechlicz, of Clarks Summit, PA. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, November 4, at St. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, N89 W16215 Cleveland Ave, Menomonee Falls, WI from 4:00 pm until the Memorial Mass at 6:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Interfaith Senior Programs of Waukesha County, 210 NW Barstow Street, Suite 101, Waukesha, WI  53188.
