Arlene Harriet Hartford, age 90, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2011, at Shorehaven in Oconomowoc. Born April 26, 1921, in Berlin, WI, she was the daughter of Randolph and Edna Mitchell. On September 17, 1941, Arlene married Harland Harrison Hartford. They moved to Oconomowoc in 1946. Arlene and Harland had a passion for traveling; they visited China, Mexico, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. Arlene was a dedicated employee at Brownberry Ovens and Sentry Foods for many years. She was a life-long member of Good Shepherd Methodist Church and also volunteered at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital. Arlene will be remembered for her sweet demeanor, quick wit, beautiful gardens, and love of family and friends. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Harland, and her brother, Clarence Mitchell. She is survived by daughter Lana Faye Hartford (Jim) Jackson of Arlington Heights, IL; daughter Cheryl Ann Hartford of Freeport, IL; granddaughter Kelly Piper of Burlington, WI; granddaughter Lara Jackson of Arlington Heights, IL; Krista (Greg) Kienitz of Oregon, WI; and Dr. Kari (Joshua) Cataldo of Verona, WI. Arlene was dearly loved by her great grandchildren, Ryan, Grace, Alexander, Noah, and Kurtis.

A celebration of Arlene's life will be held on Thursday, September 29th, 2011, at Shorehaven Chapel 1305 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Oconomowoc, WI. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm with services at 2:00pm. Memorials to Shorehaven Health and Rehab Center or Good Shepherd United Methodist Church appreciated.
