Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, godmother, and mother-in-law. Of Denver, CO and Wauwatosa, WI. Entered eternal life on January 5, 2011 at the age of 90 years, surrounded by the family she loved. Born March 10, 1921 in Donetsk, Ukraine. Survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Alexander, their daughter, Lucy, and grandchildren, Lucinda and Gregory. Also survived by her niece, Irene, of Moscow. Preceded in death by her two brothers and a sister in Ukraine and Russia, and her son-in-law, Lewis Ronald Cromwell, of Wauwatosa.
Eugenia came to the United States in 1949, with her husband and daughter. She became a proud American citizen and a bookkeeper for several companies in Denver.
Eugenia will be deeply missed by relatives, friends, and the many people she helped, supported, and inspired during her long life. She will be remembered for her compassionate nature and positive spirit. An avid reader, Eugenia could recite hundreds of poems from memory, to suit any occasion. Her gift with words spanned four languages and her love of poetry testified to her gentle soul.
Funeral services and burial will be held in Denver. The family would like to thank the staff at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice for their attentive care and kindness.
