Dear Family of Helen: Dorothy and I planned to see you at the funeral this morning, but a sore throat and feeling like a cold was coming on, made us choose to stay home. We both have so many fond memories of Helen through the Pomeranian contacts these past 12 yrs. He friendliness and kindness were always appreciated. We last saw her at Pommerntag in June. I also remember her positive and inquisitive attitude in the classroom at Concordia. After her graduation I always had her mentoring a student or 2 each year - she was such a great example of what a Lay Minister should be. And she never turned me down. She certainly has been one of God's blessings to so many people in her life. May her spirit live on in all of you. Now she is discovering the joys of heaven and we can look forward to our happy reunion with her.
May God's Spirit comfort all of you in these next days and weeks.
We are sending a memorial gift to the Lay Ministry program at Concordia to help other students with their tuition, in memory of her.
