Gerald L. Hofmann, 83, of Oconomowoc, entered into eternal life surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 31, 2013. Survived by the love of his life, Carol (nee Ebert), two daughters, Dianne (Mark) Buchholtz of Oconomowoc, and Dawn(Thomas) Kreklow of Delafield. Loving grandfather of Dr. Stephanie (Dr. Scott) Baginski, Chad Buchholtz, Andrew Kreklow and Kayla Kreklow. Cherished great grandfather to Julia and Sophia Baginski. Also survived by one brother, Thomas Hofmann of Milwaukee, sister in law, Grace (Ken) Ehlenbach, brother in law, John (Elaine) Ebert, nieces and other relatives and friends.
Jerry was a Locomotive Engineer for the Milwaukee Road, Soo Line, and Canadian Pacific Railway for 42 years. He enjoyed 25 years of retirement and over 60 years of marriage.
He was a member of the Golden “K” Kiwanis club for 6 years, member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, and served as an elder at his church.
Jerry was a devoted husband, very generous, caring and loving father and faith filled man who trusted Christ as his Savior.
A celebration of his life will take place at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Oconomowoc on Sunday, February 3, 2013. Visitation will be from 1-2:00 p.m. with the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc, Delafield Presbyterian Church, or the Alzheimers Association of Southeastern Wisconsin.
