Born and raised in South Bend, Indiana to Parents Prof. LeClaire H. and Dorothy M. Eells. Graduate of Indiana University. Married Cyril E. Lindemann Sept. 1, 1956. Longtime resident of Oconomowoc, WI.
Joanne was the dear and loving mother of six children: Kurt (Donna), Christopher (deceased), Lisa, Eric (Stephanie), Richard (deceased) (Kelly), Peter (Michele). Grandmother of 13: Zachary, Tyler, Alec, Devin, Joelle, Laurel, Grace, Erika, Nicholas, Robert, William, Joseph, and John. Survived by husband Cyril, sister Karen Collins, and nephews David and Patrick Collins, sisters-in-law Judy Lindemann and Susan (Jack) Hessefort, and other family members. Preceded in death by parents, brother John Eells, and sons Christopher and Richard.
Joanne was a teacher. She taught at Okauchee Elementary School and was a long-time substitute teacher in the Lake Country area, famously known as “The Singing Sub”. She was a volunteer religious education teacher at St. Jerome.
“Mama Jo” starred in and directed many local plays/musicals. She was phenomenal in her roles of Aunt Eller in “Oklahoma” and Mama Rose in “Gypsy”.
Our mom Joanne was beautiful in all ways. She was a talented artist, singer and actor. We thank her for all of her love and care and sacrifices. She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 995 S. Silver Lake St., Oconomowoc, WI.
