I was so sad to hear the news of Mike's passing. I have only good memories of him. He was always there to help out at Kathy's school, with any of the many special events and especially with the acquariums that everyone loved- especially the kids. I know that the K4 and K5 teachers and their students loved the visits to Hoffer's pet store.
He will surely be missed by many and remembered by lots of students!

I am saddened by Mike's passing. I first met Mike while I was working for Tetra. We asked him to be on our Retailer Advisory Board. He was one of my favorites. A genuinely nice person who I always enjoyed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

“A paradise our God has promised,
When he’ll blot out all sin and error, Removing death and tears and pain.
A paradise, the earth will be.
Soon here on earth, as God has purposed,
His Son will cause the dead to rise.
Then it will be as Jesus promised:‘You’ll be with me in Paradise.’”

My heartfelt condolences to Mike's family. I went to high school with Mike. I remember his first fish store on Center Street or North Ave. He was a hardworking, good hearted man. He will be missed.

MIKE'S PASSING COMES WITH GREAT SADNESS. WE SERVED TOGETHER ON THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE WORLD PET ASSOCIATION. AND I RESPECTED BOTH HIS OPINION AND JUDGEMENT
MIKE AND I SHARED THE SAME BIRTHDAY (ALBEIT 6 YEARS DIFFERENT) AND THE LOVE OF ANIMALS AND PETS. BY THIS SHARED TRAIT WE WERE TRULY BROTHERS WHICH ONLY DEEPENS THE VOID CREATED BY HIS PASSING.

We have known Mike for many years now. He is a friend of my sons Mark and Andy. When our grandson competed in an aquarium design contest, Mike let him pick out some fish and other supplies. Kaleb was thrilled! He really loved visiting Hoffers Tropic Life and seeing all the different animals, especially the fish and reptiles. We know Mike to be a generous, kind, wonderful man who loved life and gave it his all. He will be sorely missed around this town and by a lot of people! Rest in peace, Mike1
